Brett Johnson, founder and designer of the Brett Johnson Collection, will attend this year's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week prior to the launch of his menswear and shoe collection, which will debut in early 2013, at select retailers nationwide.

"We will launch the first selections from the collection early next season," said Johnson. "I want the collection to become one of the most high end sneakers and sought after brands in the world."

Brett's parents, BET co-founders Robert and Sheila Johnson, expressed their pride in their son's design achievements.

"I have watched with pride, his growth in self-confidence, integrity, and a strong work ethic," said Robert L. Johnson, now Founder and Chairman of The RLJ Companies. "As Brett charts his own business course, nothing will make me happier than to watch him succeed; and, as any father would, I will help out in any way that I can."

"His shoe and clothing designs have received outstanding reviews from professionals and designers from within the fashion industry," said Sheila C. Johnson, now CEO of Salamander Hotels & Resorts. "He is gearing up for an incredible market debut for early next year.”

Also: "I am extremely proud of my friend Brett Johnson. His fresh, new line captures the essence of his fly sense of style," said Antonio "L.A." Reid, Chairman and CEO of Epic Records.
